PRP Facial in Scottsdale

A PRP facial uses your own platelet concentrate — applied with microneedling or injected as PRF — to build collagen, improve texture and tone, and restore a naturally rested look without fillers. Dr. Luca Lioce, NMD at Vita Sana Medical Center performs PRP and PRF facial treatments in Old Town Scottsdale.

PRP vs. PRF for the face

PRP is the classic platelet concentrate; PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) is a second-generation preparation that forms a natural scaffold and releases growth factors more slowly — ideal for under-eye hollows and areas needing gentle, natural volume. Dr. Lioce uses both, choosing by area and goal.

Pairing platelet treatments with microneedling drives growth factors into the skin as new collagen channels form — a combination with visibly better texture results than either alone.

What it improves

  • Skin texture, pores, and fine lines
  • Under-eye hollows and dark circles (PRF)
  • Tone, glow, and skin thickness
  • Acne scarring (with microneedling)
  • Overall collagen and elasticity

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a PRP facial different from fillers?

Fillers add volume with a gel; PRP/PRF rebuilds your own tissue quality. Results look natural because they are your own collagen — and the two approaches can complement each other.

How many sessions will I need?

Most patients do a series of two to three sessions about a month apart, with results building over three months.

Is there downtime?

Mild redness for a day or two after microneedling-based sessions; injection-based PRF may bruise briefly. Most patients return to normal routines immediately.
