What Is PRP Therapy?
PRP — platelet-rich plasma — is a regenerative treatment made from your own blood. A small sample is spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets, which carry your body’s growth factors. Injected into an injured joint, tendon, scalp, or skin, this concentrate signals the body to repair tissue, build collagen, and restore function.

Why platelets heal
Platelets are the body’s first responders: wherever tissue is damaged, they arrive first and release growth factors that direct the repair crew — recruiting stem cells, stimulating collagen, and building new blood supply. PRP simply delivers that response in concentrated form, exactly where healing has stalled.
Because the treatment is autologous (from your own body), it is naturally compatible. What varies is skill: preparation quality and injection placement determine results, which is why physician-performed PRP matters. In Scottsdale, Dr. Luca Lioce, NMD of Vita Sana Medical Center performs every procedure personally.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is PRP the same as stem cell therapy?
No — PRP concentrates platelets and growth factors from your blood; stem cell therapies use different source tissue. PRP is simpler, well studied, and often the right first regenerative step.
How long do PRP results last?
For tendon and joint problems, improvements commonly last a year or more, especially when the underlying cause (instability, overuse) is also addressed.
Who should not get PRP?
Active infections, certain blood disorders, and some medications can rule PRP out — screened for at your consultation.
