What Are Dermal Fillers?

At Vita Sana you have a choice of using a variety of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Dermal Fillers. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is found naturally throughout your whole body and acts as a skin plumper. All HA Fillers are completely dissolvable, so in the unlikely event that your results aren’t to your liking, they can be reversed with ease. As for what brands we use, we find that Versa, Juvederm Ultra Plus, and Belotero provide outstanding results. However, the differences between them are geared toward the patient’s age, anatomy, and desired look. Overall, we’ll suggest a filler based on your specific needs but ultimately the choice is all yours!

How Long Will The Results Last?

Lip fillers naturally dissolve within 6-9 months. This is heavily dependent on factors such as age, metabolic rate, level of activity, and average blood flow to the face. For example, a young person with a fast metabolism and more blood flow to the face has a higher likelihood of breaking the filler down at a quicker rate than someone older. Lip filler generally doesn’t last as long as filler placed in other areas of the face, mainly due to the fact that the mouth is much more active. Consider how much we talk everyday!

Is There Any Downtime?

Lip injections often cause swelling that lasts around 48 hours. Despite the fact that we take preventative measures to avoid the chance of bruising, it is a possibility that should be expected and prepared for. Again, everyone’s healing process is different, however there are measures you can take to aid this process that we will provide in pre and post-care instructions.
